Thread: The Castles of Burgundy:: Rules:: just one silverling for a goods sale

We played our first session last Friday and it went well overall, except that we made the classic mistake of discarding sold goods instead of stacking them blush.

The game group really had only question: why is it that a goods sale only gives you one silverling, regardless of the number of goods? This is counter-intuitive at best and the only good explanation I could give was that money is supposed to be scarce in this game. Unfortunately, that wasn't good enough for my inquisitive game group - and I don't think that 'because it's in the rules!' will cut it either.

Would it be wise to indeed change the rule to 'amount of silverlings equal to the number of goods sold' or would that really unbalance the game?
