The first dozen or so plays this is how we played it due to misreading the rules. It was not bad. I'm not convinced it was faster. Yes you may stay more engaged with what is going on but you miss one of the key elements in this game, combinations. It is much harder to get good combos when you alternate actions. In a 2p game we can crank out a game in 20 mins with the way the rules are written. About 30 mins with the erroneous/variant alternating turns style. I'd play either way, it doesn't take away anything from the enjoyment either way.

Heading towards our 100th play.

:meeple: Keep playing...

But if your combinations are being blocked off, then people are paying attention and are trying to stop you from doing things - which is good! Right now it's a bit too easy to pull of combos that score big - and everyone gets their combos, which means the net result is small. If you can sneak one in I'd imagine the achievement will be more satisfying.
