The Castles of BurgundyPlayers: 2 – 4
Time: 90 minutes
Age: 12 and up
Introduction:
The game is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.
Game Play:
This is a dice rolling with a tile placement mechanics that is very fresher and enjoyable. There is also a set collecting with the tiles too.
Components:
The player boards and tile are heavy duty cardboard. No problems with the components.
Likes:
This is my second favorite Stefan Feld game that he's made so far. This game has many ways to win and game flow works well. This game plays very well with two players. I do love that the players get double sided boards so they can choose which side to play on.
Dislikes:
Art work is very ugly just like Trajan. I hate rolling dices because it ruins your plan. You do have ways of changing you dices in the game.
Final Thoughts:
This game is so much fun and it makes my top 10 list. I enjoy this game for it's high level of strategy. The mechanics works so well in this game. You should own this game just for the mechanics alone.

I don't love the game but I will play it when its brought out. I enjoy rolling the die and trying to get areas built first to gain extra points but it is a little bit annoying when it doesn't go as planned. I wish this had a better way to manipulate the dice instead of tuning die you need into workers thereby adding or subtracting 1 to the die roll. I would also have liked selling goods to be done differently as well considering you need your dice to build and buy, it just seems to make decisions harder on what you can do but overall I do have some fun playing this game and think most people will.
I will be doing weekly board game review if you want any updates like us on facebook at Grimm's bake off.
