The yellow tiles do grant powers to gain more silverlings, and yes maybe at the end you want to accumulate silver for VP purposes if the center black tiles aren't useful or your spaces are mostly filled up. I haven't tried a 4P game yet so I want to see if money running out can happen. It shouldn't be too bad though (ie you won't a lot of extra tokens) in any case.

That's it.

If the black mines and the two yellow bonus silverling tiles come up early in the game, there is are lot of silverlings in the game.
Additionally in 4 player game the two yellow bonus tiles for selling goods and all the banks will come for sure.

So there is a purchasing power...

... at the end of the game at least 2 players have often to sell goods (bonus tiles).
For the other two it now depends:
If there is junk in the black depot and wanted tiles outside (e.g. often there is a race about completing areas first) there will be very few sells in the black depot for 1 or 2 phases.

In this case a lot of money is left.
We often had all 4 players end with 5-7 silverlings each.

Remember: you lose 2 VP and one die/move (for placing the tile from the depot) for buying in the black depot. At the end oft the game there aren't too many good tiles in the black depot that are worth that invest.
