Finally played Castles of Burgundy last night for the first time. 2 player game with my wife.We started playing, and reading the rule book as we played. (I already took the time to learn the game on my own, thanks to RAHDO gameplay video!). At first, my wife looked like she was going to fall asleep; it was late. But by the time we had played a few turns, my wife was totally into it, and thoroughly enjoying the different game mechanics. And by the end of the game, she ended up kicking my a$$ too. (Lesson learned - complete regions for big points as early in the game as possible).
Things I love about this game...
- buildings and science tiles with special abilities, sometimes allowing you to produce "combo" moves (extra turns)
- different maps to play with (replayability)
- dice mechanic to decide what options you can take (my last turn, I rolled double sixes, and I was pissed! HA!)
Things I would love to see improved...
- components! This game needs a high quality 2nd Edition (Collectors Ed.)
- modular maps - build a map at the start (random) - or just more maps!
- wood components / meeples!!

Overall, this game is a worthy addition to anyone's collection. Especially if you are a Euro gamer at heart. And at under $30 on Amazon.com, I recommend grabbing it immediately, if you don't own it.
