It's definitely easier to break 200-points barrier with more players, thanks to several reasons. If you play with 4, you can be sure sooner or later you will get all the animal tiles, making it easier to score lots of points for the same species. Also, you will be able to get any of the scoring knowledge tiles. Another reason: the city tiles. Sometimes in 2-player games you will be unlucky and won't draw the type of tiles needed for your scoring knowledge. There is no such issue with 4 players.Also, with 4 players the bonus tiles for completing one kind of terrain is worth 2 more points than with 2 players and selling goods is worth 4 points, not 2.
That being said, you can still break 200 points with 2 players. When we play CoB with my wife, we end up closer to 190 though.
